Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the research, design, and development of electromechanical products and systems. In this role, you will work across all phases of the product lifecycle—from concept and design through fabrication, testing, production, and sustaining engineering. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, innovative, and experienced in creating robust mechanical solutions that support current and future product needs.

Responsibilities

Product Development & Design

  • Contribute to the development of new electromechanical products, including overall product functionality and documentation.
  • Participate in mechanical engineering projects involving sustaining engineering, product modifications, and enhancements.
  • Develop mechanical solutions and designs that meet specifications and anticipate future product features and requirements.

 

Engineering Execution

  • Perform part and assembly design, including creating detailed drawings, models, and supporting documentation.
  • Generate bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and other related documentation.
  • Support fabrication, testing, installation, application, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical products throughout the development cycle.

 

Project Estimation & Collaboration

  • Provide estimates for project hours, costs, and timelines for semi‑complex engineering projects.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, production, and other internal teams to ensure successful product execution.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • 20+ years of experience in the design and packaging of electromechanical and peripheral devices
    (in lieu of degree)

 

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

 

Minimum Experience

  • 5 years of mechanical engineering experience

 

Preferred Experience

  • 8 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in electromechanical product development

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $59,795 - $122,400. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
