Responsibilities
BRIGHTSTAR Lottery Technology group is looking for a SQA Manager to support the industry’s most innovative and highly complex lottery transaction processing Point of Access and back-office systems for our lottery customers in the Americas. The candidate is expected to be a team lead in addition to being a quality engineer who is a self-starter, team player and a strong driver for results. The candidate must embrace quality a first, continual improvement attitude while demonstrating passion for their work and projects. To be a Quality Engineering Technology Manager at BRIGHTSTAR, a candidate is expected to bring an assortment of knowledge and skills to every area of our business. Responsibilities: The Quality Engineering Technology Manager will have supervisory responsibility for a small team of test engineers. They will also be assigned quality assurance engineering
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Engineering Responsibilities:
- Work on supporting the relevant aspects of the projects assigned Test Planning, Test Design, Quality Center Analysis, Test Execution, Test Summary Reports/Status
- Review, analyze, and provide input for producing quality requirements
- Research, define, present and recommend quality methodologies, automation support, quality test tools
- Leading the test team and mentoring junior resources
- Perform test case/scenario reviews of critical code software functions
- Handle known areas of the system as an expert without assistance and become quick-learner, productive resource in unfamiliar areas with minimal assistance from others
- Act as key technical resource (a go-to person) to other engineers and project leaders. Effectively interface with other organizations of the company and act as a liaison or contact point on both technical and non-technical matters
Engineering Team Oversight
- Management responsibility and leadership responsibility for 4-6 Quality Engineers
- Accountable for Team overall technical performance
- Plan and assign workload for the Team
- Approve timesheets, vacation and time off requests, and coordinate backfill
- Lead performance assessments and discussions with Team
- Participate in recognition efforts, training, career development, and coaching
- Participate in interviews and recruiting process
- Provide appropriate orientation and training schedule for new hires
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Technology field, or equivalent.
- 5-8 years minimum experience in a quality engineering role
- 2-3 years minimum experience in a leadership role
- Knowledge of all systems, terminal types, and testing requirements for each
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective personal interaction skills
- Leadership aptitude

- Experience in delivering high volume, high performance, and high availability transactional software products

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $74,961 - $164,800. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
