Responsibilities
Applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach for creating new solutions or modifying existing solution independently or with minimal supervision. Act as tech lead for projects, working effectively with the team and mentoring the junior engineers on the team.
- Understand the scope of work, provide estimates for the work and help with planning the tasks.
- Help the Business Analysts with requirements gathering support and work with the Customers.
- Design the software for the agreed upon requirements, develop, unit test and deploy the solution.
- Participates in group design discussions and expected to provide concrete input to these decisions based on their knowledge of the design principles.
- Create new solutions or modify an existing solution independently or with minimum supervision.
- Expert level Proficiency in Software Development, Software Design, Software Testing, Software Maintenance, Software Configuration Mgt. Software Engineering Tools and Software Quality
- Mentor Junior engineers on the team.
- Report status to Project Managers or Software Project Managers and deliver as per Scope/ Schedule/ Budget.
- Document all the deliverables clearly so that projects can benefit from this documentation
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor or Master of Computer Science degree or equivalent.
Years of Experience:
- Bachelor's 4-6 years, or Master's and 2-4 years.
Skills:
- Domain Knowledge of the Lottery systems.
- Achievement of industry certification i.e. Java, J2EE, IBM DB2 etc.
Other
- 4+ years' experience with Java - Familiar with J2EE concepts
- Strong knowledge of Hibernate and spring.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS, SQL. (DB2 knowledge a plus)
- Experience with Restful APIs a plus
- Experience with JBOSS is a plus
- Experience with Maven/Nexus/Jenkins and Apache Camel is a plus.
- Frontend experience with JavaScript, AngularJS, and Jasmine is a plus.
- Experience with BDD, Knowledge of Gatling/Scala is a plus
- Experience with version control systems, preferably SVN/GIT is a plus
- Experience with Eclipse/IntelliJ IDE is a plus
