Overview
We are seeking a QA Test Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our Lottery Retailer application. This role will work closely with engineering to design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks while also contributing hands-on manual testing when appropriate.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in test automation, practical manual testing experience, and excels at troubleshooting complex issues across environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks
- Select and implement appropriate automation tools and strategies based on system architecture
- Execute and contribute to manual testing efforts, including exploratory, regression, and edge-case testing
- Participate in test planning, test case design, and risk assessment for new features
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
- Improve test coverage, test reliability, and overall quality processes
- Review and contribute to requirement definitions with a quality-first perspective
- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to best practices across the QA team
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality ownership across the SDLC
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on test automation
- Hands-on experience with multiple automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, REST-assured, etc.)
- Solid foundation in manual testing techniques and test design principles
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across application, test, and environment layers
- Experience testing APIs and validating backend services
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, C#)
- Proficient with SQL and version control (git)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Ability to clearly communicate issues, risks, and recommendations
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud-based testing environments and containerized applications
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Performance, security, or accessibility testing experience
- Experience influencing quality strategy at the team or product level
- Prior experience mentoring or leading QA initiatives
