Overview:
The Product Architecture team provides architecture support to Product Management and Engineering. Guiding good product design and integration in readiness for release and customer integration.
Additionally, they provide site specific services such as technology stack evaluation and recommendations, bespoke customer integration guidance, and deep dive assistance on persistent problems.
The Product Architecture (PA) Lead role oversees the team.
The role acts as an escalation point and senior bridge between multiple external and internal stakeholders.
What you will be doing
The PA Lead role will oversee the team, and additionally where necessary act as a Product Architect.
Your key differentiating tasks are:
- Manage the PA team capacity and demand – to assign team members to priorities and tasks
- Manage the PA team growth – working with internal and external teams to identify training and knowledge sharing activities to grow the team
- Improve processes and tooling – work to evaluate and improve the processes and tools used by the PA team to improve efficiency and efficacy of their role

In addition to PA qualities, as a Senior Leader you bring:
- Product Influence – help analyse and consolidate what PAs are seeing across the portfolio into a sensible strategic input to product roadmaps.
- Delivery Improvements – work with PMO, Product Management, System Architecture and Software Engineering on areas of optimization as identified by your team. Influencing changes in ways of working and deliverables.
- Mentoring – of both your team and other members of CTO. As a senior PA you are regarded as a voice of reason and respected for your broad view of all things technology and delivery focused.
- Cloud Skills – experience of building Cloud products in Azure, AWS or GC with a hybrid or flexible deployment to on-premise.
The Product Architecture Lead is also expected to have ability to act as a Product Architect. The Architect role has key tasks that they work towards:
- Product Architecture – when necessary, define or evolve a product architecture based on new requirements or overall system needs.
- Solution Architecture – when required by System Architecture, help define a particular decision or solution for a customer deployment to guide IGT development and customer technical leads.
- Architecture Strategy – help guide IGT engineering and product towards technologies and an architecture that meets business needs, being responsible for key design decisions when necessary.
What Product Architect Have:

- Product Architecture Ownership – help analyse and consolidate requirements into a technical solution as input to product roadmaps and for engineering to develop towards.
- Delivery Improvement Mindset – Identify areas of optimization for engineering to work towards to make realisation of the architecture easier and robust. Influencing changes in ways of working and deliverables.
- Technical Experience – Apply architectural and system design expertise to support critical decision points in both product and solution development. Clearly communicate the trade-offs of different approaches and help stakeholders make well-informed decisions based on cost, complexity, performance, and maintainability.
- Hands on mindset – where necessary get involved in setting up the foundations or help resolve critical issues together with engineering.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills – Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving and occasionally chaotic environment with diverse, opinionated stakeholders. Confident in navigating conflicting viewpoints, building alignment, and driving architectural and strategic discussions to actionable conclusions.
In addition, as Lead of the team you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT field or equivalent work experience, with at least 5 years of experience in a business systems analysis role or as a product owner, managing a complex product or feature within an enterprise
- A strong understanding of product management and agile software development methods, applied concepts and tools in modern product management and product design
- Ability to travel (up to 15% of time)
- Ability to work across multiple time zones if required
