Applications Engineer III

Responsibilities

IGT, the leading slot game manufacturer, is seeking an enthusiastic Game SDET who is ready to apply their technical expertise and experience to achieve new levels of quality assurance to game production.

As a Game SDET, you will be working as part of an integrated team with software and test engineers, as well as many other disciplines within the company to assist in delivering the highest quality gaming software to the world.

Typical day to day Game SDET tasks include:

• Work closely with the software developers and test automation engineers to identify what needs to be tested in new or existing features.
• Design, document and implement complex processes, tools, and programs using a wide variety of modern programming languages and technologies.
• Test gaming software to ensure it meets required customer, functional, and regulatory and specification requirements.
• Accurately monitor and communicate test execution results while consolidating, analyzing, and debugging them.
• Proactively research and develop software tools and automation to support test plans.
• Continuous build and auto-deployment research and development for IGT gaming machines.
• Provide estimates for assigned work and guidance in estimation to other engineers as required.
• Investigate regulatory and field issues/defects.
• Perform ad hoc, black box and white box testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate application security program, including tool selection, policy enforcement, developer engagement, and risk reporting. 
• Own integration of AppSec tooling into CI/CD pipelines to enable scalable, developer-friendly security controls. 
• Provide architectural guidance and secure design recommendations during development planning. 
• Oversee deployment and tuning of tools for SAST, SCA, secrets management, IaC scanning, and DAST (e.g., Tenable Web App Scanning). 
• Partner with product teams to embed secure coding practices, review threat models, and triage high-impact vulnerabilities. 
• Collaborate with GRC/compliance teams to ensure alignment with relevant standards (e.g., OWASP, FedRAMP). 
• Mentor and support other AppSec engineers and champion a security-first development culture. 
• Evaluate IAST and runtime protections as part of continuous improvement efforts. 
• Develop KPIs to measure security posture and tooling efficacy. 

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science required or equivalent.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in software engineering product assurance.
• Programming background in C#, C/C++, VB, Java, SQL, XML, NUnit, JUnit and/or .NET for test frameworks/scripts/automated test tools.
• Software test tools and applications.
• QA processes and methodologies.
• Experience with real-time embedded microprocessor systems is a plus.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, and work well in a team environment.
• Able to pass a Security Background Investigation
• Work overtime as needed
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Able to obtain a Gaming License
• Able to pass a Security Background Investigation
