Responsibilities

Summary

 

 

The Telecommunications Technician I supports the Florida Lottery Systems Team at the Tallahassee Data Center. This role is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance on internal telecommunication equipment and systems, support Field Service Technicians and Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide technical support for servers and communication systems.
  • Support Field Services and Data Center teams with reports, software updates, and system status.
  • Troubleshoot network systems using established procedures and tools.
  • Monitor network tools for service verification and anomaly detection.
  • Execute operational checklists for maintenance, change requests, and system validations.
  • Perform release management and network hardware/software updates.
  • Assist in planning network projects and releases.
  • Support local testing policies and procedures.
  • Generate and update reports for Field Service Technicians and management.
  • Broadcast software updates and parameters to Lottery terminals.
  • Maintain communication servers in coordination with System Admin.
  • Collaborate with QA and Field Services for terminal installations and software releases.
  • Provide phone-based troubleshooting and escalate issues as needed.

 

The following shifts are available.

 

Monday - Friday - 6am-3pm

Wednesday - Sunday -  3pm/12pm 

Saturday - Sunday 6am-5pm and Monday -Tuesday 1pm-12pm

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

 

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical support, helpdesk, IT, or data center operations.
  • Entry-level knowledge of server administration, LAN/WAN technology, and TeleComm systems.
  • Familiarity with network equipment including firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Experience in end-user support and customer service.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).

 

 

Working Conditions

 

 

  • This role operates within a secure data center environment and may require occasional shift flexibility. The technician must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and adapt to a fast-paced technical setting.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $14.00 /hr – $24 /hr. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses.
