Responsibilities

This is a customer facing, technical and artistic position that is responsible for collaborating with the Lottery as well as Brightstar software developers, the Brightstar Software Quality Assurance Manager, Brightstar Marketing, and other account team members to develop, design and release robust interactive content for digital signs.  Content will be published on a proprietary terminal system and displayed at retail locations across the state using dedicated LCD screens.  Multimedia content (including static and animated graphics) for digital signage displays in the retail environment. Will support day-to-day operational graphical needs.  Must live near Schenectady, NY.

 

  • Develop and contribute to design concepts for digital signage displays aligned with lottery sales goals and creative assignments.
  • Adapt and package content for optimal performance within targeted environments, considering hardware and network constraints.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet deadlines, strategy, and standards.
  • Conduct unit testing on targeted hardware to verify accurate performance.
  • Coordinate with operations and QA teams for system testing and content deployment to production.
  • Collaborate effectively with marketing, creative, software development, and business teams.
  • Stay current on best practices for digital signage content creation; recommend process and technology improvements.
  • Regularly engage with creative and marketing teams across locations to share ideas and participate in design reviews.
  • Work well in a team environment, accept feedback, and apply lessons learned.
  • Develop retail digital signage animations for up to 13,000 diverse retail locations.
  • Create content under New York State Lottery direction, meeting technical requirements and retail-specific needs.
  • Attend regular meetings with site management, corporate marketing, content development teams, and Lottery management.
  • Produce field-ready versions of signage content.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups to support other teams.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BFA  in Game Design, Software Development or equivalent in the field
  • Graphic Design BA Degree, or equivalent
  • Web Design and Ui/Ux Design knowledge
  • A minimum of three years of sales/marketing design and multimedia development experience

 

Must show proficiency in the following for digital signage Content Development and 
Deployment: 

 

  • Adobe Creative Suite
    • *Photoshop
    • *Illustrator
    • *After Effects
    • *Animate
  • HTML/CSS/Javascript development and animation
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems
  • XML parsing
  • Action Script 2/3 knowledge a plus
  • Microsoft Office

Comfortable working in deadline-intensive corporate environment; ability to address and effectively negotiate design changes. Must be self-motivated and able to handle simultaneous projects. Must possess very strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be highly effective at translating requirements into written and graphical specifications. Must be process-driven, able to design, follow and document test plans and procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate with team members.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $63,776 - $121,200. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
