Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Repair Technician I to join our Manufacturing/Repair Logistics team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining lottery terminals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair terminals and peripherals down to the component and board level
- Test Point-of-Sale (POS) and communications equipment to determine root cause of failure
- Clean, inspect, and maintain equipment to ensure reliability and quality standards
- Support Field Service Technicians by managing inventory, tools, and parts distribution
- Maintain accurate repair logs and inventory records through data entry systems
- Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels of spare parts, sub-assemblies, and terminals
- Perform quality checks on returned parts from vendors and repair centers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Collaborate with internal departments and support field operations as needed
- Perform general administrative and data entry duties
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts
- Occasionally operate a box truck to support installation activities and equipment movement
- Coordinate transfer of equipment between facilities
Minimal travel required, with occasional field support based on site needs.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Experience
- 1+ year of related experience required
- Experience working with electronics and electromechanical devices required
- Experience with communications and IP-based technology preferred
- Proficiency with computer systems and software applications
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and adherence to processes
- Strong judgment and problem-solving capability
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to accurately distinguish colors for troubleshooting purposes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds over extended distances
- Ability to climb ladders and work with tools and electrical components
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and equipment

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $21/hr. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
