Short Description

Our team is growing, and Brightstar is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer Specialist to join our ambitious team in Rome, Italy. This ground-breaking opportunity allows you to work on modern projects, be part of a committed team, and contribute to top-tier solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Strive for continuous improvement in efficiency and governance of workflows
  • Build and develop tooling that will drive the efficiencies in workflows
  • Work closely with requirements engineers to estimate and deliver flawless products
  • Promote high quality and timely completion of projects
  • Collaborate with onsite and remote teams to successfully implement solutions
  • Provide technical solutions to complex problems and write comprehensive technical documents
  • Deliver feature-rich software on time and within budget
  • Responsible for 24/7 support of solutions in specialized or disaster situations

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of software development experience or related scripting
  • 5+ years of experience working with software development pipelines
  • Computer Science Bachelor's degree, College degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills:

  • Experience coding in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with container technologies (Docker), container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
  • Proven experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and version control systems (Git)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)
  • Prior exposure to Terraform and cloud environments (specifically Azure) is desirable
  • Proficiency with build and packaging tools (ant, maven, gulp, etc)
  • Advanced Linux system administration skills
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and microservices
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
  • Expertise in monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki/ELK stack)
  • Solid grasp of security guidelines and compliance requirements
  • Experience with Blue/Green and Canary deployment strategies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant certifications (Azure DevOps Engineer, CKA, AWS DevOps Professional)
  • Experience working in regulated industries
  • Ability to pass a security assessment
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery planning
  • Familiarity and experience with production deployment and troubleshooting
