Overview
The Director of Compliance Operations is responsible for leading the execution and continuous improvement of Brightstar’s global compliance operations. This role supports the development and implementation of compliance programs that address the company’s most significant risk areas, with a strong focus on jurisdictional clearance and third-party due diligence.
The Director partners closely with senior leadership, Legal, and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate compliance into business operations, leverage technology and AI to improve efficiency, and foster a culture of ethical behavior, integrity, and accountability across the organization.
Responsibilities
Jurisdictional Clearance & Third-Party Due Diligence
- Lead and directly supervise the third-party due diligence team and program.
- Ensure due diligence processes are effective, efficient, risk-based, and jurisdictionally compliant.
Compliance Strategy & Program Execution
- Collaborate with the Senior Director and key stakeholders to develop and execute the three-year global compliance strategy.
- Apply the Compliance Lifecycle model to prioritized compliance risks.
Technology & Innovation
- Leverage compliance tools and systems to improve operational effectiveness.
- Identify and implement opportunities to use AI and automation to replace manual processes.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Partner with People & Culture, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Treasury, and Procurement.
- Ensure compliance programs are consistently embedded across business functions.
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators for compliance initiatives.
- Use data, benchmarking, and peer comparisons to drive continuous improvement.
Ethical Leadership & Investigations
- Model ethical decision-making and reinforce a culture of integrity.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness in global compliance contexts.
- Lead or support investigations related to Integrity Line cases and other operational compliance matters.
Risk Management & Policy Oversight
- Work with Legal and risk owners to develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and controls.
- Oversee risk mitigation in areas such as:
- Anti-corruption
- Antitrust
- Government consultants
- Ensure policies are embedded into daily business processes.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree; an advanced degree is preferred.
Experience:
- 15 years of work experience; 12 years of related experience is required.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $117,880 - $240,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
