OVERRAL OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring that we deliver the highest quality of service to our customers with respect to Brightstar's Commercial Services products. The DBA will also work with the service providers and translate their business requirements to feasible technical solutions.  In addition, the DBA would also be responsible for maintaining our key databases and other in-house developed solutions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSABILITES

  • Gather and document business and technical requirements and provides input into the planning, acquisition, system configuration, system installation and security management processes required in the delivery of solutions.
  • Drafting and submission of Technical Specifications document for new customer review and sign-off.
  • Logging and management of all technology enhancements and maintenance requests
  • Ensure that CS systems and procedures are properly documented inclusive of effective redundancy and recovery plans.
  • Perform all aspects of administration on the commercial services platforms.
  • Participate in operational deployment of all new Commercial Services (CS) products and services inclusive of test plans.
  • Provision of post-launch customer support
  • Implement effective system and procedural controls as per audit requirements.
  • Conduct process reviews within the company and provide recommendations for enhancing or improving the existing processes.
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal and external technical matters.
  • Development of reports and analytics for commercial services products.
  • Retrieval of data for regulatory or other submissions
  • Management of Commercial Services Customer File Uploads, File transfers and collection file remittance.
  • Conducts periodic process reviews and provides recommendations for enhancing or improving the existing processes and procedures for the Commercial Services platform
  • Provide necessary training for the internal staff on routine procedures required to support the CS platform.
  • Provision of substantive support to Brightstar’s off-site software team in the maintenance of the Commercial Services platform
  • Provide second level support for agent issues for the Commercial Services platforms
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUERIMENTS

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 – 3 years of SQL technical experience,
  • Knowledge in IBM DB2
  • 2 – 3 years of experience with LINUX/UNIX

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint & MS Outlook
  • Proficient in PLSQL, UNIX scripting and LINUX
  • Knowledge of Power BI would be an asset
  • Effective writing skills, including reports, procedures, and letters
  • Knowledge of effective project management methodologies
