Overview
The Senior Software Project Manager Cloud leads large, complex, and/or multi-workstream initiatives that are critical to the organization’s cloud and product strategy. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, shaping delivery approaches, influencing stakeholders at director/VP level, and orchestrating cross-team execution across products, platforms, and regions.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned project leader with a proven track record of delivering high-impact cloud or platform initiatives, managing ambiguity, and mentoring other project managers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of large, complex cloud and software programs, while also performing core project management activities such as developing and maintaining schedules, milestones, and dependencies using standard PMO tools and methods.
- Define and drive delivery strategies, governance structures, and success criteria for major cloud and platform initiatives, ensuring execution aligns to business and technology objectives.
- Translate business goals into roadmaps, integrated program plans, and measurable outcomes, coordinating across multiple products, teams, and regions.
- Oversee multi‑workstream planning across architecture, development, testing, infrastructure, security, and change management, ensuring cross‑team dependencies are understood and managed.
- Lead and support the day‑to‑day coordination of cross‑functional teams, removing blockers, aligning priorities, and keeping delivery on track.
- Track and report program and project performance (scope, schedule, cost, quality), surfacing variances, risks, and issues with clear recommended actions.
- Serve as the primary contact for key stakeholders, facilitating trade‑off discussions on scope, schedule, investment, and risk.
- Anticipate and manage high‑impact risks, driving issue resolution, root‑cause analysis, and structured change control across the program.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of experience managing complex IT/software development projects including cloud-based initiatives
- 3–5 years leading large, cross-functional programs or multiple concurrent complex projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, architecture, product, operations, security) in a matrixed environment.
- Proven success managing high-stakes, time-critical, and/or contractually sensitive projects with competing priorities.
- Strong financial acumen: able to manage budgets and forecasts.
- Advanced proficiency with project and portfolio tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Clarity or similar PPM tools, MS Project).
- Excellent executive communication and influencing skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Project Manager with experience delivering software projects from concept through production deployment.
- Proven experience managing highly complex projects with tight timelines, changing scope, and competing priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of software engineering and project management methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency with Clarity; experience in Agile and hybrid delivery models is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in gaming, lottery, or similarly regulated industries is a plus.
Success Profile
Keys to Success

- Influence & negotiation: Confidently engages senior stakeholders, balances trade-offs, and drives alignment across functions.
- High autonomy: Operates with minimal oversight; anticipates and resolves issues before they escalate.
- Cloud-savvy: Understands the implications of cloud architecture, operations, and security on delivery plans.
- Outcome-driven: Focused on business impact, not just task completion; measures and communicates value delivered.
