Overview

As an Unwind Operator, you’ll run the unwind system that feeds raw ticket stock into Brightstar Lottery’s printing and finishing lines. This role ensures proper tension, material alignment, and smooth flow, while troubleshooting minor issues and supporting continuous production. It requires precision, documentation accuracy, and strict adherence to secure‑handling processes. Work is performed onsite at the Lakeland, Florida facility. This role will work 12‑hour shifts, with scheduling based on production needs and may rotate across stations as required.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate unwind machinery to feed ticket stock into production lines.
  • Monitor material flow, tension, alignment, and roll condition.
  • Verify roll labels, material type, and measurements before use.
  • Perform in‑process checks and complete roll‑change documentation.
  • Conduct minor adjustments and identify issues affecting material feed.
  • Support press or finishing operators during changeovers to maintain efficiency.
  • Follow all secure‑print and safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in machine operation, material handling, or industrial equipment.
  • Ability to understand material specifications and complete accurate documentation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to monitor moving material safely.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating unwinders, tension‑control systems, or roll‑fed equipment.
  • Background in printing, finishing, or continuous‑feed manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues involving alignment, tension, or material defects.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk throughout 12‑hour production shifts is required
  • Regularly lift 20–40 lbs; items over 50 lbs require a team lift or use of approved equipment
  • Perform bending, reaching, twisting, and material handling throughout the shift
  • Use hand tools and complete repetitive tasks
  • Work in an environment with noise, heat, inks, paper dust, and moving equipment
  • Visually inspect printed or packaged materials with accuracy

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $21.00 per hour. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses.
