Overview

As a Lead Press Operator at Brightstar Lottery, you will oversee the operation and performance of our state-of-the-art flexographic presses—the largest and most advanced in the lottery instant ticket printing industry. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring press efficiency, maintaining top-tier print quality, and mentoring press team members. You’ll play a critical part in delivering outstanding graphics, bulletproof security, and exceptional customer service through precision press operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily press operations, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules
  • Interpret job sheets and oversee accurate press setup, including Anilox roll selection, print sleeves, and stock
  • Supervise ink preparation and ensure correct ink placement across print decks
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards, including web inspection and registration accuracy
  • Troubleshoot press issues and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Record and report production metrics: footage printed, ink usage, and quality samples
  • Mentor and train Press Operators and Assistants, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure press readiness and minimize downtime
  • Operate unwinders and manage substrate loading during production
  • Mix custom inks and adjust PH/viscosity as needed for color consistency
  • Ensure compliance with all Brightstar Lottery policies, including confidentiality and environmental standards

Qualifications

Brightstar Lottery Global Requirements
Follow all Brightstar Lottery policies, procedures, and rules related to Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Information Security, Environmental Compliance, and more.

Education Required
•     High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required
•     5+ years of related mechanical, manufacturing, and/or printing experience
•     Leadership or supervisory experience in a pressroom environment strongly desired

Skills Required
•     Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during a shift
•     Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally throughout the shift
•     Physical capability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, push, pull, and twist at the torso as required
•     Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
•     Strong written and verbal communication skills
•     Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures related to facility operations

Preferred Education, Experience, or Skills
•     Knowledge of flexographic press operations preferred

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $43,992 - $85,134. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable. 

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
