Overview

 As a Mechatronics Technician, you will support Brightstar Lottery's manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production and packaging equipment within a high-security instant lottery ticket manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on mechanical, electrical, and automation responsibilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. While automation and controls work are important components of the position, success in this role requires a strong ability to support the full range of maintenance activities across production equipment. This role will be located onsite in Lakeland, Florida. Please note that this position requires onsite attendance in Lakeland, Florida and is scheduled for the night shift, working 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM.

 

What You'll Do

  •  Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues across manufacturing systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and industrial control systems
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high-speed production and packaging equipment
  • Support welding, fabrication, equipment rebuilds, and machine modifications as needed
  • Develop and modify control logic to support equipment improvements and new product introductions
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

 

What You'll Bring

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Automation, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience supporting manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial control systems, including Allen-Bradley or Siemens platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to work safely in a secure, regulated manufacturing environment and pass required background checks
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required

 

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Experience as a Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technician, or similar role
  • Background supporting high-speed packaging, printing, converting, or manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, and machine rebuilds
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial networking
  • Experience working in regulated, secure, or highly controlled manufacturing environments

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk throughout 8‑hour production shifts is required
  • Regularly lift 20–40 lbs; items over 50 lbs require a team lift or use of approved equipment
  • Perform bending, reaching, twisting, and material handling throughout the shift
  • Use hand tools and complete repetitive tasks
  • Work in an environment with noise, heat, inks, paper dust, and moving equipment

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $32.00 - $36.00 per hour. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
