Overview

The Application Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing business applications to ensure reliable performance and alignment with organizational needs. This role serves as a technical intermediary between end users, IT, and external vendors—providing expertise in system configuration, troubleshooting, data integrity, and enhancements. The specialist plays a key role in analyzing business requirements, delivering application solutions, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations of critical systems. This role will be hybrid or on‑site environment depending on organizational needs. This role may also require occasional after‑hours support during critical incidents, maintenance windows, or system upgrades.

What You'll Do

Application and Support Management

  • Provide daily support for assigned applications, diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including configuration updates, user access management, and monitoring.
  • Maintain system documentation, knowledge articles, and support procedures.

 

Systems Configuration & Optimization

  • Configure application features, workflows, integrations, and modules based on business needs.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and usability.
  • Assist with testing, deployment, and validation of application changes, upgrades, and patches.

 

User Support & Training

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for business applications across user groups.
  • Deliver user training, create support materials, and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

 

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain data integrity through audits, issue resolution, and quality checks.
  • Build or support reports, dashboards, and data extracts as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and manage data flow across integrated systems.

 

Vendor & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work with software vendors to escalate issues, coordinate maintenance, and implement enhancements.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, security, and project teams to ensure systems are stable, secure, and compliant.
  • Participate in projects involving new system implementations or major upgrades.

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in application administration, technical support, or systems analysis (level may vary based on role).

 

Technical Skills

  • Experience with enterprise business systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS, CRM, financial or operations platforms).
  • Understanding of system configuration, workflows, and application security.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, or integration concepts is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ITSM ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Cherwell, Jira).

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Customer‑service mindset and collaborative approach.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $38,281 - $156,700. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
