Overview

As a Compliance and Corporate Social Responsibility Intern, you will support Brightstar Lottery’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and responsible play. This internship offers hands-on experience in compliance documentation, policy research, and responsible gaming initiatives within a highly regulated lottery environment. You will work cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and CSR partners to support regulatory readiness and Positive Play efforts. The internship is full-time during the summer and follows a hybrid model that includes both remote work and on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

Compliance & Policy Support
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and maintaining internal compliance and CSR policies
  • Research state and national lottery regulations, responsible gaming standards, and emerging policy trends
  • Support audit preparation, certification documentation, and regulatory reviews
  • Prepare policy summaries, briefing notes, and internal communications
  • Help maintain organized, audit-ready compliance and CSR documentation
  • Track corrective actions, risk considerations, and documentation updates
 
Corporate Social Responsibility & Responsible Gaming
  • Support research on responsible gaming best practices and player protection strategies
  • Assist in reviewing and refining responsible gaming messaging and player-facing resources
  • Contribute to development of content for websites, retailer materials, and training tools
  • Support awareness initiatives, education campaigns, and stakeholder presentations
  • Assist with CSR reporting, metrics tracking, and data summaries

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how compliance and CSR functions operate in a regulated lottery environment
  • Gain exposure to responsible gaming frameworks and Positive Play principles
  • Learn how policy and compliance efforts support consumer protection
  • Develop research, documentation, and analytical skills
  • Build experience collaborating across legal, compliance, and marketing teams

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public policy, business, social sciences, communications, public health, or a related field
  • Interest in compliance, corporate social responsibility, or consumer protection
  • Strong research, organization, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured, regulated environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest or coursework in public policy, behavioral science, or regulatory affairs
  • Familiarity with research methods, data analysis, or reporting
  • Interest in lottery, gaming regulation, or public-interest organizations

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $20.00 per hour. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
