Overview
The Security Officer II plays a key role in protecting Brightstar facilities, personnel, and assets by enforcing corporate security policies and maintaining a safe environment across assigned locations. This position performs both fixed‑post and patrol duties, monitors and operates security systems, manages access control, and responds to a variety of security‑related incidents. As an individual contributor, the officer collaborates closely with teams such as Facilities, IT, HR, Compliance, and Operations to support business continuity and uphold the organization’s security standards.
The role requires strong attention to detail, solid judgment, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment. The Security Officer II documents all activity, handles alarms and incident reports, and interacts regularly with employees, tenants, auditors, and external lottery partners. With responsibilities that directly impact the safety and operational stability of Brightstar sites, this position is essential to maintaining the company’s overall security posture.
Responsibilities
Support global physical security operations.
The officer contributes to securing Brightstar facilities worldwide using established security policies and procedures.
Execute security processes.
They follow required procedures to protect personnel and property and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and internal standards.
Monitor and patrol facilities.
The job involves both fixed‑post monitoring and foot patrols to prevent unauthorized entry, unauthorized activity, and damage or removal of company assets.
Maintain documentation.
This includes updating visitor logs, completing incident reports, and entering all shift activities into the Daily Activity Log.
Operate security systems.
The officer monitors and operates access control systems, CCTV, intrusion alarms, and fire alarm systems. They may be required to work positions such as single‑entry posts, conduct vehicle patrols, or patrol interior/exterior areas. They must also respond to various incidents by foot or vehicle.
Manage access control.
They use Brightstar’s access control system to create, activate, and deactivate access permissions for people and sites, including global locations.
Coordinate with third‑party monitoring services.
The officer works with external alarm-monitoring vendors to address and resolve intrusion alarms. They also interact with internal Brightstar employees and external parties such as auditors, tenants, and lottery partners.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Typically 2–4 years in a relevant security role
Knowledge requirements:
- Basic understanding of federal, state, and local laws
- Experience with security and law‑enforcement equipment
- Familiarity with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Office
Other requirements:
- Must pass Brightstar background checks, including financial and lottery‑specific checks
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
Certifications: CPR/First Aid/AED must be obtained during employment

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $43,680 - $51,792. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
