Overview
Brightstar Lottery is seeking a Communications & Training Manager to join our marketing team in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate is a high‑energy, self‑driven, innovative, and creative professional with demonstrated experience in writing, proofreading, and public speaking within an educational or training-focused environment, along with strong project coordination skills.
This role requires a blend of creative, analytical, technical, and managerial capabilities to effectively collaborate with leaders across the Texas business unit and the Texas Lottery Commission. The Communications & Training Manager will develop, create, and deliver a wide range of content, including but not limited to training materials, classroom scripts, procedural documentation, trade publications, and sales and marketing support materials.
In addition to overseeing communication strategies to ensure messaging aligns with company values and business objectives, this role is also responsible for proofreading and quality control of content produced by the team. Experience or familiarity with the lottery industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of technical training programs for customers regarding the features, functionality, and operation of lottery systems and software products.
- Develop project schedules, work plans, and resource requirements for training and communication initiatives.
- Create and deliver effective curricula that translate learning objectives into practical knowledge and skills.
- Lead training sessions for audiences with diverse professional backgrounds and responsibilities.
- Maintain the operational status of training systems and related software used to create and manage training documentation.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop trade and sales support materials, including the creation and/or editing of training documentation and visual presentations.
- Interpret creative direction and technical information to produce clear, compelling, and persuasive written content.
- Champion new approaches to communication and training delivery by evaluating existing processes and recommending more efficient and effective methods.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under continual, staggered deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree required; journalism, communications, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience producing copy for print and/or training materials.
- Strong understanding of AP style, with the ability to explain and apply its rationale.
- Proven writing and editing skills, along with effective content strategy and planning abilities.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams, paired with a creative mindset.
- Lottery industry experience preferred.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $67,200 - $164,500. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
